Earlier last month, we had an amazing opportunity to collaborate with Elevate - Toronto’s leading tech and innovation festival. If you were in Toronto this fall you saw the thousands of posters letting you know that Michele Obama was coming to town, giving yet another inspirational and warm talk, Guy Kawasaki was here evangelizing new MacIntosh 😉 and Canva, Chris Hadfield visited from his secret base behind the flat Moon. Spoiler alert: we all know that Earth is round! but there is still active debate on how flat the Moon actually is, just look at this picture and see for yourself...

Ok, ok, w...

In June we were invited to present our documentary at VRTO conference here in Toronto. Keram Malicki-Sanchez, VRTO's creator and executive director, asked us to expand on the subjects we talked about at GDC - making interactive documentary and its challenges, and talk more about our creative choices - what is the user's experience, what is the goal of the project, how will the audience feel like after watching it, as well as talk about our tips, tricks & budget decisions that have lead us to current technical solutions - and our own stereoscopic volumetric capture tech, that is so unique. We a...

Our schedule was tight and resources limited, so working together Chris, Tom and prolific IMAX cameraman Dylan Reade along with a crew of local Artists dragged around a massive, heavy and unruly 3D beamsplitter camera rig in heat and humidity.

We recently produced a really fantastic immersive video project for Ernestine’s Women’s Shelter. We were first contacted by them through Interactive Ontario and as they were looking for someone that could donate a small VR arcade booth to entertain donors at their annual fund-raising event. We met with them at their facility and we were inspired to instead create an immersive video tour of the shelter and show it to attendees of the event.

For safety and security reasons the Ernestine’s Women’s Shelter address is kept confidential, and as such very few of the attendees at their annual fundrais...

Few weeks ago,  we presented our documentary in development, The Choice VR at Games Developers Conference (GDC) in San Francisco. This talk is now on GDC Vault and you can find it here.  We gave the same talk at Toronto local VR meetup, Toronto VRC, and we recorded it, so you can have access to it here as well. We added English subtitles to it, as the sound was not always perfect. We are also working on Polish subtitles (Joanne is from Poland ;)), so some time soon it should be available as well.

We are finally back after an exciting week at GDC 2019!

It was great meeting so many of you! Especially those who came to our talk on Monday. This was the first time we were talking about both the creative and technical aspects of our volumetric video documentary The Choice VR in front of such a diverse crowd of professionals.

We greatly appreciate the kind words of support and definitely will keep you all informed on our progress as we work this year to finish the project. It was really great to meet people from such wide fields as AAA Games to VR healthcare and we've gotten some really great f...
